Discover the key to success and reach your life goals

Ever felt like you are swimming uphill with your business? Do you want to find out what the key to success is to reach your business or life goals?

The answer is simple.

Believe in yourself.

I know this is often easier said than done. But I can assure you that as soon as you start believing in yourself, everything else falls into place, and you will find the magic key to success.

This is summed up by Henry Ford with his famous quote:

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right” – Henry Ford

Self-belief is your key to success.

As soon as you start thinking something is possible, you start finding ways to reach your goal. Conversely, if you think your goals are impossible, you start looking for why they can’t work.

How successful you become is determined by YOU.

Only you can determine your success, and only you can get in your own way to prevent it. You have to be determined to make it happen and willing to learn new things.

“We are what we believe we are” – CS Lewis

If I was to tell you that you can achieve anything you want, would you believe me, or would you start telling me all the reasons why you can’t?

Don’t underestimate yourself – it just takes one person, one idea, one goal to make you successful.

We all suffer and struggle with self-doubt. Not only at the start of our business journey, but when we try and grow our business, the self-doubt creeps back in. If you need to learn more about believing in yourself and overcoming self-doubt, take a look at this post.

Your attitude to life is the difference in whether you ‘feel’ successful. If you don’t know what you want to achieve and jump from one thing to another, you may achieve many different things. Each project could be a success in its own right. But would you consider yourself successful?

To determine how successful you are will require you to know what you were aiming for in the first place. Plus, you need to be able to recognise when you have achieved it.

To be able to do that, you need to set goals.

Goals that really mean something to you.

Why set goals for what you want to achieve,

Have you ever met someone who seems to always have all the luck?

Do you think people are born lucky or unlucky?

I think not.

It is how you approach life that makes the difference. The attitude of a ‘lucky’ person is positive, and they are able to focus on what they want. This means that a ‘lucky’ person can take the opportunities that come their way. They know what they want to achieve and can see if opportunities could help or hinder them.

I’m sure a ‘lucky’ person has the same amount of things that go wrong as anyone else. The key to success is how they deal with it. They acknowledge it didn’t work, move on and start searching out the next opportunity to help them reach their goal.

You deserve to achieve your life’s biggest dreams, and I want you to achieve them as quickly as possible. Here is my formula for achieving everything you want in life.

The best part is that you start seeing results right from the start.

The formula comprises of the following 5 steps:

Step 1 – Decide what you want.

The key to success in making this all happen is to set a goal for yourself. When you set a goal, it immediately sets in motion a series of events that moves you forwards to a happier and more fulfilling life. Without a goal, your life can drift, and you end up reacting rather than proactively seeking out opportunities.

To start figuring out what you want from your business or life, write down everything that causes you pain. Once you know what is causing you pain, you define your goal as the complete opposite.

Convert absolutely anything that has been causing you to suffer into its opposite to create a powerful new goal.

Step 2 – Define your why

At the moment, your goals are simply dreams that you have. Dreams can be highly motivating, but it is important to understand the difference between dreams (desires or wants) and needs.

A need is something we must have to live in a way that enables us to enrich our lives. Wants are something that you don’t truly need.

For instance, you may want a big house, an expensive car and a life of abundance and endless free time. However, do you honestly need these things to be truly happy?

When you create your goals, it is important to discover WHY you want to achieve the goals. By uncovering your Big Why you will have a powerful motivating force that can drive you forwards.

It is always important to ask yourself whether you really need that thing or whether you just want it.

For each of your goals in step 1, write “so that” after each one. After the “so that'” fill in the reason why you want the goal. Keep on adding “so that” until you find your single motivating reason for your goal.

A goal that is driven by a powerful motivating force behind it is unstoppable.

After doing this exercise, you find that some of your goals have no Big Why, and they are a means of avoiding something you don’t want to do. Whilst this isn’t a bad thing, it is better to work on the goals that have some real value to you. The other dreams may well change or get lost somewhere along the way.

Step 3 – Train your subconscious to work for you.

One of the most important steps in achieving your goal is to program your mind so that your success becomes automatic. You need to make impressions on your subconscious mind so that it constantly steers your life in the direction you want to go.

One of the most effective ways for programming your mind is to use affirmations. Affirmations create a repeatable internal dialogue with your self that can create a dramatic impact on your life.

The more you repeat something with emotion, the more powerfully it will affect your subconscious mind.

To create your powerful affirmations, you need to rewrite each of your power goals as affirmations.

Your affirmations need to be:

  • personal
  • in the present tense
  • positive
  • specific

They should also:

  • include at least one dynamic emotion word
  • include an action word
  • be not too long

Example affirmation:

If your goal was: you want to have a monthly income from your business that is double your monthly expenses to be happy and fulfilled and have a positive influence on others. Construct your affirmation as follows:

I am happy, successful and fulfilled and am grateful for my business which is an amazing success and money comes to me effortlessly.

Creating powerful affirmations also counteracts some self-limiting thoughts that you may have and silences your inner critic.

The act of repeating your affirmations aloud with emotion each morning and night allows you to visualise and emotionalise how it feels to reach your goals to make them most effective.

Step 4 – Create an action plan.

Many people who set goals fail to achieve them because they do not plan for how they are going to achieve them.

If you don’t plan to achieve your goals, you are just relying on luck, and you will have no guarantee of achieving them.

So in this step, you need to create an action plan for your goals. This is a list of actions/steps/task that you need to complete to move you towards your goals. You may not know all the actions you need to take at this point but making a start is the key to success.

To make sure you are working on the most important actions, ask yourself the following questions about each of the actions :

  • what will move you forward the most?
  • where does the greatest long-term impact come from?
  • What are the time-wasters?
  • What takes a lot of effort for minimum results?
  • Where should I focus?
  • What is the one thing I can do that by doing it makes everything else easier or unnecessary?

Hopefully, your answers to these should give you some direction on what you should focus on.

Step 5 – Make consistent daily actions towards each of your goals.

It’s vitally important to your success that you take consistent daily actions towards each of your goals. Even if it’s only a tiny step.

Small, consistent daily actions mount up over time to give you massive results.

Most people don’t achieve great things in their lives because they put off to a later time what they could do today. Sadly, that later time rarely arrives.

Creating daily routines and habits will consistently move you towards your success.

Following these 5 steps and believing that you will achieve them is the key to success and achieving your goals.
